Driving in Canary Islands
All driving regulations in the Canary Islands is under the juristication of Spain. As such drivingis on the right hand side of the road, the use of seat belts is compulsory and children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the front seats unless in an approved restraint and seat. The speed limits for driving in the Canaries are 20 km/h in residential areas, 50 km/h in built-up areas, 90/100 km/h outside built-up areas, and 120 km/h on on motorways.

- Gran Canaria - Arucas: This lovely old town with nice parks is located at an impressive high coast with picturesque small bays, and some of the island's most important banana-plantations. Very close to here there is the volcano Montaña de Arucas
- Lanzarote - Tymanfaya: Massive volcanic eruptions took place here between 1730 and 1736 and formed 100 volcanic craters. Here in this national park you can see the volcanic and arid landscape of Timanfaya - also known as the Fire Mountains and still see to this day some amazing experiments to show you the current activity underground.
- Tenerife - Loro Parque: This is Tenerife's most popular wildlife centre and receives more than 1.3 million visitors each year. Situated at outskirts of the northern resort of Puerto da la Cruz it is home to the largest parrot collection in the world and the biggest dolphinarium in Europe.
- Fuerteventura - Parque Natural de Corralejo y Lobos (nature reserve) - Fuerteventura has 265 kilometres of coastline, miles of golden sandy beaches washed by the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

- The Fiesta of San Antonio Abad (Saint Anthony Abbot) - Tenerife: This is held in the small southern town of Arona in Tenerife in January each year and there are traditional games, processions, music and dancing throughout the week of this festival.
- Lanzarote Carnival: This takes place at the end of February each year each town and village have their individual processions on different days.
- Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: Here they host a number of arts festivals throughout the year and these include the Festival Internacional de Música (January); the Festival de Opera (February-March); the Festival de Ballet y Danza (May); and the Muestra Internacional de Cine , an international film festival held every two years in October and November.
