We often get asked questions before and after a car hire booking and so have collated the most commonly asked questions which we hope will address any questions you may have.

I am under 25, can I hire a vehicle?

Yes in some cases it is possible to rent a hire car if you are under 25 but there would be a supplement payable at the time of collection of the vehicle. We have listed the minimum age required to hire a car in each country guide.

I don't have my driving licence. Will the car hire company do a DVLA check on my arrival?

Yes if the vehicle is being collected within the UK and during normal office hours a check will be made but there will be a charge to pay for this.

Does the price quoted include everything inc. damage excess and taxes?

In most cases the prices quoted are fully inclusive, however in some cases there may be an additional charge upon arrival.

I am travelling where there may be snow, what is the extra charge for snow chains and tyres?

This varies from rental location to location.

Does the driver need to have a credit card?

Yes on collection of your vehicle you will be required to leave your credit card details.

Will the car rental location accept my switch card as the deposit?

No locations will not take Switch.

What is the insurance on the vehicle?

The insurance included with your booking includes CDW and Theft Waiver, however there is an excess which applies to each insurance. To lower the waiver on the CDW, you can take our additional insurance or additional insurance prior to the renatl either as a single trip premium or an annual policy, click here for details or at a more expensive charge it can also be purchased at the car rental location on arrival?

What happens if my flight is delayed or we arrive late, will the car rental company wait for me?

Yes, as long as you gave us the correct flight number when you booked, then the car rental desk should monitor any delayed flights and wait for your arrival. You should check with the rental company if you have any concerns.

Can the car be dropped off in another country?

Yes, in some instances this is possible you would have to have booked as pick up in one location and drop off in another.
