Car Hire :: Help SectionDepending on whether you are yet to book a hire car with us or you have already booked your rental vehicle here are a few pointers to help you. Help Before Your Booking What basic information do we need to provide you with a car hire quote ? - We need to know the country and city or airport location plus the dates and times of collection and return of vehicle. Can I book a hire car from you although I don't reside in the UK ? - Yes and we can accept payment in UK pounds, US Dollars Euros. What is the standard age for hiring a car.? - The standard age for renting a hire car is 25 - 65 years
however you may still be able to rent a car but there would be an additional surcharge which partly covers an additional insurance premium. This would be payable at the car rental location on collection of your car. Can I hire a car with endorsements (points) on my licence ? - In most cases yes but it may depend on the reason for your endorsement and the total number of points on your licence. If you are in any doubt please contact our call centre. What add ons are available? - At the time of booking we would recommend that you include options such as Damage Excess Waiver (DEW) and Cancellation Waiver Protection (CWP) are taken. Other options include ski racks, snow chains and child seats. What is Damage Excess Waiver (DEW)? Damage Excess Waiver insurance will cover you for any damage excess that you may be charged if you return the vehicle damaged. Generally though it doesn't cover damage to tyres, wheels, windows, the roof, the underside and the interior of the car. If keys are lost then you would also be liable for reasonable costs in replacing these. What is Cancellation Waiver Premium (CWP)? This is an extra insurance premium that you have the option to take which removes/waives your liability for damage caused only to the hired vehicle if it is involved in a collision. |

Help After Your Booking I would like to make a complaint ? - If you find that you need to make a complaint upon your return, we ask you to send it in writing no more than 14 days after your return to our customer service department. Mayday Group, Mayday House, Crescent Road, Luton, LU2 0AR, UK. Please note that Best Car Hire in association with Mayday Group act in partnership with internationally based car rental businesses, and we may be required to refer to them in order to fully investigate the complaints raised. Can I book a One Way Rental ? - Yes some locations can accept one way rentals. We are unable to process these bookings online so please contact our call centre to proceed with these bookings. Can I change the driver? - Yes the driver details can be changed up to 4 hours before arrival as long as the age requirements meet the hire company's conditions. Can I upgrade the vehicle? - Yes, as long as the vehicle you require is available at the time of the requested change. To upgrade your vehicle please contact our call centre. Can I have my car delivered to my accommodation address? - Yes this can be arranged in advance from selected car rental locations. This will need to be dealt with by our call centre where there may be an additional charge made locally. What happens if my flight is delayed or we arrive late, will the car rental company wait for me? - Yes, as long as you gave us the correct flight number when you booked then the car rental desk will monitor any delayed flights and wait for your arrival. The only location where this is not the case is Nice Airport. If I need to cancel my booking what must I do? - To cancel a booking you will need to fax us on 01582 736 728 or e-mail us on bookings@travelextras.com.
