• St Finn Barre's Cathedral is a magnificent building, and the town has several other notable churches.
• For a great view, climb Shandon Tower - and have a go at ringing the bells!
• The English Market, with its elegant 19th century fountain, is the perfect place to fill your picnic basket before heading off on one of the numerous scenic drives in the harbour area, or taking the car ferry to one of the neighbouring islands.
• A must see for any visitor to the area is Blarney Castle, built in 1446 by Cormaic Laidir McCarthy, where it is said that the gift of eloquence shall be bestowed upon those who kiss the famous Blarney Stone.
