Knock airport is situated in County Mayo in the Republic of Ireland. Knock Airport is located 10 miles from the town of Knock itself. It is a small airport, catering for the large number of religious tourists who travel to this remote and beautiful part of the republic en route to visit the famous shrine at Knock.
The facilities provided within the terminal include a café offering snacks and sandwiches made from local, freshly baked bread, a small intimate bar and a restaurant. Attractions near Knock Airport

Knock is a small town, but on the 21st of August in 1879, two women from the village report a vision of the Virgin Mary in the local church yard. This was the start of the legend of Knock that has over the years, turned this obscure little place into the republic's most visited place, and an important site of international pilgrimage. The Knock Folk Museum is a definite 'must visit'.
The village is not the only attraction however. The region is only a short drive from the wild west Irish coast with its miles of pristine sandy beaches. Inland, lakes and majestic mountains dominate. Small hamlets, each with their pubs and small, picturesque cottages, abound and the traveller is assured of a traditional, warm Irish welcome.
For the sportsman, Eire offers some of the best fishing to be had anywhere. Riding, hiking, water sports and mountain cycling are commonly available, and championship class golf courses seem to be around every corner.
County Mayo boasts many historical sites and museums reflecting its historical past. One good example that repays a visit is the Museum of Country Life near Castlebar.
