Driving in Israel

The minimum age for hiring a car in Israel is 21, but this may differ depending on the car hire company. Driving in Israel is on the right and the wearing of seatbelts is compulsory in front and back seats. If you are looking to cross the border into Sinai or Jordan you will not be allowed to take your hire car. Children under 12 are not allowed in the front seat. Speed limits on the inter city roads is 90 km/h and 50km/h in built up urban areas.
