Rome Airport

Rome has two airports. Leonardo da Vinci Airport (at Fiumicino) which is used by the major airlines for scheduled flights, while Ciampino Airport handles mainly charter flights and business aviation.

Fiumicino Rome's main airport is located 26km (16 miles) south west of Rome, there are three terminals, Terminal A is for domestic flights. Terminal B, handles international and a number of domestic services. Terminal C has major international flights. All three terminals have a full range of shops, restaurants and bars. To get to the Airport to collect your hire car there are regular train connections to all the major cities in Italy and Europe from Termini station, just north east of the Palatine Hill and the Forum. Trains are comfortable and fast. The main road connecting Rome to the north and south of Italy is the Autostrada del Sole, which connects with the ring road circling the city. You can also get a train from the airport to Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina.

Shopping at Leonardo da Vinci airport is a delight with over 130 stores where you can find many international brands,the best of the Made in Italy and the most prestigious international labels: Clothes, jewellery, perfumes, liqueurs and traditional food products, you can also relax and enjoy a meal or a drink in one of the airport's many bars, café's or restaurants.

Facilities at Rome Airport

The airport has over 3000 parking spaces. You can pay for your car parking at the automatic payment machines, in cash or by credit card or at the manned payment stations.

Disabled Parking

There is parking for disabled badge holders at the entrances of each car park they are reserved car park spaces and are free. To use this facility, it is necessary to keep the entrance ticket to the car park and hand it over to the control centre staff at the exit barriers.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport

Use the many free touch screen totems, created to give support to passengers, they hold all the information you will ever need about the airport and its facilities. The totem screen shows a map with the layout of the airport and local roads, and gives information on: passenger assistance desks, banks, information desks, cash withdrawal machines, currency exchange, left luggage, places of worship, post office,special assistance rooms, nurseries, VIP lounges and toilets. The machines also have a Video conference facility, an easy way to get in touch with a Leonardo da Vinci airport operator and be assisted on any issue regarding flights and airport services. For this purpose each station has been equipped with a scanner capable of reading the travel documents so that the operator is able to give personalized assistance to each passenger. Every totem has two touch screens, one of which is placed at a lower level, allowing easier access to the disabled. The totems are operative 24 hours a day.

The Post Office's are located in the Arrivals area of terminal A (ground floor)and also in terminal C. The left luggage is located at Terminal C, ground floor, it's open every day from 07.00 am to 11.00 pm. The First Aid Facility, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
