San Remo
City Guide
San Remo is located in a wide inlet between Capo Nero and Capo Verde. With it's beautiful public gardens and flowerbeds, San Remo is known as the Town of Flowers' - the capital town of the Italian Riviera of Flowers', which is a strip of land which runs along the Italian coast to the French boundary. The climate and location of this town allows numerous tropical plants and trees to flourish. The Riviera is often described as a land of colours, of sunshine and blue sky.
The old town is known as La Pigna' and is drenched in history with it's steep streets, perched houses, covered alleys and small village squares. The modern town is now renowned as a popular seaside resort, which welcomes and entertains visitors all year round. San Remo is well known for its art, culture, and sports. Fishing, diving, canoeing, wind surfing, and motor boating are well catered for here. There are also ample golf, riding, swimming, baseball, and fitness facilities.
