Must see in Barcelona

Barcelona is a fascinating city to visit, with lots going on and lots to see. Your first stop should be Las Ramblas, a wide pedestrianised street where street artists and entertainers perform for the delight of the passersby. The famous Cathedral is worth seeing, not least for its beautiful gardens, and if you're there on a Sunday you'll be entertained by traditional Catalonian folk dancers.

Travel up to the hills at Montjuic for a great view of the city along with restaurants, cafes and leisure activities. The Placa de Braus Les Arenes, an old bullring, was the venue for a Beatles concert in 1966, and you can look down to Barcelona marina for a Yellow Submarine.

The Picasso museum features lots of his work, including many pieces from the Blue period, and also has a comprehensive history of the man himself. And the architect Gaudi brightens up many of the buildings around the city with his art; visit the Gaudi Park for more.

Barcelona is a great place for shopping and nightlife. There are high quality shops of all descriptions, and the city is renowned throughout Europe for its wonderful nightclubs, bars and restaurants.
