Bilbao airport is just 10 km from the city centre. The city of Bilbao is in fact split into two halves and then divided into eight districts. It is the largest city in the Basque Country and is now undergoing a radical urban renewal.

• The Cathedral of Santiago - This cathedral is dedicated to the apostle St. James, who has been the official patron saint of Bilbao since 1643. Built at the end of the 14th century in the Gothic style, it has a nave and two aisles, with a triforium and retrochoir. The cloisters are small, but with a beautiful Gothic layout. It became a cathedral in 1949. Its tower and main façade are Neo-Gothic, built by Severino de Achúcarro and finished in 1887.
• Guggenheim-Bilbao - Designed by the North American architect Frank O. Gehry, this unique Museum built on a 32,500 square meter site in the center of Bilbao.
