Lloret de Mar Car Hire

Lloret can be traced back to the third century BC. It was a fishing village covering 48 square Km. Now it is known to be a dynamic and modern tourist town. However Lloret has managed to sustain its personality through the passage of time.

It is situated in the southern part of the Costa Brava, 70 Km away from Barcelona and has five main beaches along a 7 Km of coastline. The beaches have been awarded the blue flag by the EEC, acknowledgement of the quality of the water, sand and services provided.

Lloret is one of the best tourist centres in terms of sports facilities, and has an amazing array of shops and excellent places to eat. To provide the best for all the visitors who return year after year the choice for hotels, camp sites and apartments is overwhelming. Tourist capital of the Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar is second to none for first-class nightlife and entertainment. Night-time is when Lloret de Mar really springs into action and everyone is in the party mood. Nightclubs Discos and Bars where the young free and easy are strutting their stuff. Iy is an experience that you really have to go for. To finish off the evening go and watch those with a strong head going up on the Skyride. It takes just over a second to reach more than 100 miles per hour. Although it is terrifying, remind yourself that an 8 year old has ridden it as has an 89 year-old grandfather.

The Costa Brava has always promised a wild time and you can be sure that is what you are going to have. As you would expect in such a high profile resort the choice is all there from fast food to gourmet Spanish cuisine. The holiday would not be complete until you have enjoyed the delicious paella and Spanish wine you will definitely be going back for more. Sun is almost guaranteed every day and the temperature does get very high. You can be lulled into thinking it is quite cool with the breeze from the sea coming across the beaches but sun block is top of the list when packing for the holiday.

For art lovers a date in Figueres will be visiting the Salvadore Dalí museum.

Perhaps a day off from the sun and sand would be a relaxing trip to Montserrat. You will be able to drive to small local towns and relax on so many beaches the choice is huge but well worth soaking up the local atmosphere beneath that ever shining sun.

Waterworld is a short drive away and a top tip is to arrive after 3pm when admission is half price.
