Midsummer’s Eve Festival

During the month of June Swede's hold a series of Midsummer festivities which are held everywhere outdoors in Sweden. It is the most important of all the festivals apart from Christmas; to many Swedes it is even more important than Christmas. The friendly nature of the festival revolves around a long extended lunch and includes dancing around a pole and eating pickled herrings.

Viking Market

During June the Viking Market is held at the Foteviken Museum. During the festival visitors from across the globe will take part at the market along with Vikings! The Viking Town puts on a full list of activities along with numerous market stalls selling handmade jewellery along with others selling traditional Viking weapons, there is also a range of traditional sports to watch and take part in, including the tug of war some caber toss and codfish throwing!

Baltic Sea Festival

During August Stockholm is proud to host the Baltic Sea Festival has been going for more than a decade and brings together musicians, choirs, orchestras and other performers all hoping their involvement will help create a better future for the Baltic Sea region.

Danceweek in Malung

The dance festival is held during Mid July and consists of 6 dance floors which showcase enough dancers to civer the enormous space and keep dance enthusiasts happy over a seven night celebration. Well over 80 teams of dancers from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark take part with thousands of visitors making use of the huge caravan and camp sites so as not to miss out on any of the action.
