Car Hire Trinidad

Trinidad is geologically an extension of the South American continent. Port of Spain is capital city of the twin island republic shared with Tobago and is popular choice for tourists enjoying its history and island charm.

As well as being a Caribbean beach island, there are acres of rich rain forests in the Northern Range and soaring peaks at El Cerro del Aripo. The island also has areas of flat lands which are given over to mostly agricultural use and of course, enjoys a tropical climate.

Must See in Trinidad

Port of Spain started out as a tiny seaside port with no more than a few streets and a swamp like landscape. Today the city, which is surrounded by the hills of the Northern Range, has grown enormously and is central to various suburban areas including St Clair and Belmont. The Port of Spain confidently states that is home to some of the best shopping areas in the Caribbean and is the location for some great historical buildings.

During the 19th Century, the two principal sugar estates in Tobago, 'Pirate's Bay Estate' and 'Charlotteville Estate', were consolidated into one holding and forms the basis of Charlotteville an area of modern high-rise buildings and the more traditional Caribbean architecture.

The main port of Scarborough is also the administrative centre of Tobago. Built by the British the Fort King George is full of historical buildings that illustrate the town’s rich historical past.
