Manchester Airport is the UK's third largest airport and with three terminals, currently handles 20 million passengers a year, offering direct flights to over 180 destinations worldwide by over 90 airlines.
The airport has numerous business facilities including conference and banqueting facilities (which include comprehensive range of audio-visual equipment, telephone and fax etc), fast track check in and executive lounges.

Disabled people are well catered for with special vehicles (ambulift, wheelchairs) available for transfer from the airport building to the aircraft and dedicated parking facilities as well as the usual disabled toilets, ramps and lifts. Numerous staff members are trained in sign language for the benefit of people with hearing difficulties.

• The Manchester International Short Film Festival (February) is the UK's largest independent short film festival and showcases over 300 short films at venues throughout Manchester.
• Manchester Jazz Festival (July). Outdoor concerts take place each day in St Ann's Square alongside the Jazz Festival Market and the finale of the festival is in Albert Square.
• Manchester Gay Pride week (mid August) is one of the biggest Pride events in Europe, offering a host of parties, parades and celebration.
• In The City (late September to early October) (ITC) is an exciting international music convention, taking place in the heart of Manchester, centred on the Radisson Edwardian Hotel.
